This site started whereby I needed a more generic location for providing my Zimbra OSE/FOSS builds for the community, as well as other potential downloads that I wanted to provide for the various communities I'm involved in.
Prior to TechFiles.online the Zimbra OSE builds were provided on my Linux blog: Linux Solutions however, I wanted to change this and create a better location for the downloads. That would then allow me to free up my blog page for something else entirely. Although what that will be, time will tell since I need to figure out what to do with it. Previously I had a lot of HowTo pages for various things Linux-related but it was totally out of date.
It has taken me a while to get to this stage, since I decided to move away from just creating standard HTML/CSS/JS as I had been doing in the beginning, and wanted to move my site to using a framework: Astro.build. Mainly because I just wanted to stay away now from PHP-based CMS like Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress and keep things much simpler. I just didn't need the additional overhead on the web server with using PHP and a database backend for the CMS. It also meant that I got the chance to learn something new!
